mangoroad

Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

mangoroad is made by Anyspace Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the mangoroad iPhone app and this website, why, and what you can do about it. We’re the controller of your personal data under UK and EU data protection law.

The short version

  • Your photos and videos stay on your phone. The app reads them to fill a template and makes your video or post on the device. They’re never uploaded to us, and nor are the videos and posts you export.
  • We don't sell your data, show you ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
  • We keep the little we need to run your account, improve the templates and fix crashes, and you can delete your account in the app at any time.

What we collect

Your account. You can browse without an account. If you sign in, you do it with Sign in with Apple, and Apple shares a user ID, your email address (or a private relay address if you choose to hide it) and, the first time, your name. We use these to keep your account and Pro subscription with you, and to reply if you contact us.

How you use the app. We record a small number of events, such as which templates you open, start and export, the kind of videos you told us you like making, and which sections you browse. We use them to choose and improve templates and to put the ones you’re likely to enjoy first. If you’re signed in, they’re linked to your account.

Photo library access. The app asks for access to your photos so you can pick what goes into a template. Finding the person in a photo, cutting them out and drawing the template all happen on your phone with Apple’s own tools. Nothing from your library leaves your device.

Crash reports and problem reports. If the app crashes, it sends a crash report with technical details such as your iPhone model, iOS version and app version, without your name or email. If you report a problem in the app, we receive what you write along with the same technical details.

Creator invitations. If you redeem a creator invitation, we record that your account has creator access.

Purchases. Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. We never see your card details; Apple tells us whether your subscription is active.

This website. We count visits with privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies and store nothing on your device: which pages are viewed, where visitors came from (for example Instagram or TikTok), and the type of device and browser. Visitors are counted with a daily hash that can’t be used to follow you from one day to the next. If you sign up for early access, we keep your email address to tell you when the app is available.

When you email us. We keep your message and email address so we can help and follow up.

Why we use it

  • To provide the app (your account, subscription and creator access): because it’s needed for our agreement with you.
  • To improve mangoroad and keep it working (usage events, crash and problem reports, website analytics): our legitimate interest in making templates people want and fixing what breaks, used in ways you’d expect and kept to a minimum.
  • To email you about early access: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping records or responding to lawful requests.

Who helps us run mangoroad

We use a few trusted providers, who process data only on our instructions:

  • Supabase, for our database and sign-in, hosted in the EU.
  • Apple, for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and subscriptions.
  • Sentry, for crash and problem reports.
  • PostHog, for website analytics, hosted in the EU.
  • Cloudflare, to deliver templates and their media to the app.
  • Our website host, to serve this website.

Where a provider handles data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on safeguards approved under data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if Anyspace Ltd or mangoroad is ever sold, in which case this policy continues to apply.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, until you delete it. Deleting it in Settings removes your account, your preferences and any creator access; the usage events are kept without anything that links them to you. Backups clear within 30 days.
  • Crash and problem reports, for up to 90 days.
  • Early access emails, until the app launches or you ask us to stop, whichever comes first.
  • Emails to support, for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than two years.

Your rights and choices

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@mangoroad.app and we’ll reply within one month. You can also delete your account yourself in the app, under Settings, and turn off photo access at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or to your local data protection authority.

Children

mangoroad isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, email hello@mangoroad.app and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll also let you know in the app.
